I Write Poetry

She was told
"You're never enough."
She believed and said goodbye.
I was cold
but she called my bluff
Now, I can't meet her in her eyes.
I tried just to let you go.
But I couldn't stay away.
And I tried not to let it show.
Don't know if I'll be okay.

We were one of the same.
Throwing ourselves to the flames.
Hoping we'll find our way.
But was it all lost in vain?
We were falling away.
You left me with a bittersweet taste.
But when I call your name...
Only ashes remain.
