I Write Poetry
When I was young I danced
with a beautiful lie
Untouchable,unharmed
Was my small world
Cotton candy days
That led to peppermint nights
And sweet dreams
So sweet
My first bitter taste
Shattered my shell
Their anger and screams
Exposed my flesh
Fear introduced itself to me
They were speaking a language
I didn't understand
Sharp words and broken glass
Why were they fighting
I thought this was love
Isn't it
This is my fault
My little world is falling apart
Because of me
That day the sun went down
And never rose
My blue skies quickly blackened
Without a single star
with a beautiful lie
Untouchable,unharmed
Was my small world
Cotton candy days
That led to peppermint nights
And sweet dreams
So sweet
My first bitter taste
Shattered my shell
Their anger and screams
Exposed my flesh
Fear introduced itself to me
They were speaking a language
I didn't understand
Sharp words and broken glass
Why were they fighting
I thought this was love
Isn't it
This is my fault
My little world is falling apart
Because of me
That day the sun went down
And never rose
My blue skies quickly blackened
Without a single star
