I Write Poetry

Satiety's Resplendence

My Dark Desire, my courted fate
My shadowed life conceal
With shades of gray, depths of black
And bound with rods of steel

Some whiff of you, tendrilled smoke
Drifted overhead
Dispersed throughout the air
And through my lungs instead

Entering my eager thoughts
Like quick-dividing cells
Then spreading in a darkened mind
In blooming dreams you swelled

You spread like drops of blood
'Neath cloths of linen white
Soaking through the fibers
And coursing through the night

So now I find you with me
Alive in coexistence
Of gnawing, driving hunger
And satiety's resplendence
