I Write Poetry
NLF • you’ve left me in pieces • 6 months of anguish • I’m just trying to get by...
He sat me down,
I was back from town,
He didn’t wanna stay around....
He packed up all of his things,
I threw back the diamond ring,
Against the wall it made a loud cling.
I was melting into the tiles,
My tears were making me drown,
He was walking past me,
At a 100 miles
He didn’t care when he stood on my hair,
He asked me to get out of his way,
Wrote me a list of what was wrong with me -I’ll never forget that day.
24 hours later.... I heard he strayed.
I moved my entire life,
He put a ring on my finger to make him his wife,
Three months later his heart turned to ice.
I picked up the pieces,
Missing his kisses,
Clenching his clothes goodnight,
While he was in bed with a different ma’am every night.
It’s just not right.
