I Write Poetry
May I dare to ask again
how you feel today?
Though I can hear your pain
through the words you refuse to say
Lonely as a rock
Solid as you try
Liars begin to flock
Towards the truth in the lie
And all I hear you spoke
The fancy of the wise
The truth slid in a joke
The joke inside your eyes
The laugh inside your smile
The smile behind your tears
The shouting of the vile
all ringing in my ears
Promises made to be broken
The broken tried to be whole
The whole hearts were stolen
by the people whose hearts were cold
There is no such thing as forever
The good was made to end
The bad made to get better
The worst made without a friend
how you feel today?
Though I can hear your pain
through the words you refuse to say
Lonely as a rock
Solid as you try
Liars begin to flock
Towards the truth in the lie
And all I hear you spoke
The fancy of the wise
The truth slid in a joke
The joke inside your eyes
The laugh inside your smile
The smile behind your tears
The shouting of the vile
all ringing in my ears
Promises made to be broken
The broken tried to be whole
The whole hearts were stolen
by the people whose hearts were cold
There is no such thing as forever
The good was made to end
The bad made to get better
The worst made without a friend
