I Write Poetry
If Flowers Could Lie (Challenge)
If flowers could lie
They'd tell you i don't care
That I don't wake each morn
And wish that you were there
If candy could mislead
Then sweets would turn out sour
Then maybe I could say with truth
I don't think of you each hour
If music didn't tell the truth
There'd be heartache in my song
For love songs seem to fill my soul
And I sing the whole day long
I'd buy a dozen roses
If lies the flowers spoke
I'd send the bunch from you to me
And say it's not a joke
If flowers could lie
They'd tell you i don't care
That I don't wake each morn
And wish that you were there
If candy could mislead
Then sweets would turn out sour
Then maybe I could say with truth
I don't think of you each hour
If music didn't tell the truth
There'd be heartache in my song
For love songs seem to fill my soul
And I sing the whole day long
I'd buy a dozen roses
If lies the flowers spoke
I'd send the bunch from you to me
And say it's not a joke
