I Write Poetry
A Wonderous Garden Indeed
Roses are lovely, but just a bit haughty
Dressed up in ball gowns of red
Daisies are cheerful and cute as a button
From the moment they spring up in bed
Orchids are classy, and just a bit sassy
A perfect date for the dance
Lilacs are graceful, like sweet ballerinas
They're always worth more than one glance
Daffodils are ditzy, but oh so very joyful
You will find them basking in the sun
Snapdragons are boastful and put on a show
Their safety is in numbers, never only one
Bluebonnets are playful and like to draw a crowd
They stay in groups all throughout the day
Violets are bashful and try to hide their face
They always let the others lead the way
Carnations love tradition and staying down to earth
They make a tried and trusted friend
Sunflowers are wild and love to be free
They're always smiling to the bitter end
Hyacinths are morning for those gone before
Their petals carry on the mournful cry
Tulips are lovers and seek to join in pairs
They love truly and never wonder why
Gladioli are warriors and bravely face each foe
Standing tall and warning all away
Pansies are like children and need a steady hand
Otherwise they spend their time at play
Women are like flowers, each one quite unique
Beautiful to see with luscious scents
Men are the gardeners who tend this special gift
With love and strength and lots of compliments
