I Write Poetry
In silence, like a shadow
You were my sunshine,
There to embrace,
There to hold,
But never there to get too close.
You were my diamond,
There to shine bright,
There to dazzle my mind,
But never there to be completely mine.
So I will set you free,
Though my heart is scared to let you go,
I will try to stay away,
But I know, from a far, I will pine away.
Your love I found, then your love I lost,
I will remember the memories, and the laughter,
With fondness, in silence like a shadow,
And forget that my heart broke for loving you so.
You were my sunshine,
There to embrace,
There to hold,
But never there to get too close.
You were my diamond,
There to shine bright,
There to dazzle my mind,
But never there to be completely mine.
So I will set you free,
Though my heart is scared to let you go,
I will try to stay away,
But I know, from a far, I will pine away.
Your love I found, then your love I lost,
I will remember the memories, and the laughter,
With fondness, in silence like a shadow,
And forget that my heart broke for loving you so.
