For French toast and strawberries.
Is Saturday at 11am.
It must be Saturday
So that there is leftover challah
From Friday night.
It must be 11am
So there is time
Both to buy strawberries
At the farmers market
And to work up an appetite.
That which is worth doing
Is worth doing well,
And with the proper company.
Some day
We will have breakfast together
On Saturday at 11am.

I never knew why
It was always sunny on airplanes.
We’d take off in the rain,
Then leave the clouds behind.
As an adult
I understand the clouds,
Both literal and metaphorical.
I know the beauty of rising above it all

It’s like an awkward hand job
After years of celibacy—
Not exactly what you dreamed about
But blissful satisfaction nonetheless.
