New Year's Poem
New Year's Wish
The wheel of life turns slowly around the sun
as the hour soon marks the new year begun
as new life is born and silently we age and grow
into whatever place it is we take around this wheel we go
when come the day we should leave this merry go round
no one should ever know truly 'til his death is found
but until that day we should go kicking and screaming for this life
no matter the sadness we partake or the madness or strife
for like a new year that's come every day can be a new beginning
and we just don't know what the next day may find us winning
even if you find yourself heading swiftly towards the grave
take heart and know that even old man death can a new way pave
but should life still hold us in its' generous hands however painful it can be
your smile in hope and faith of a better day may I ultimately see
take my word and keep it deep within by and by
and may each day get your old college try
for our days are numbered and we truly only get this one shot
no matter should we be reborn again or not
for each single day makes up our whole account
don't waste it on wallowing in misery like a pig with mud in its' snout
embrace some joy pulled from within your mind or heart's
believe in the goodness and gloss over the bad parts
and may love keep you warm in its' bed
