Just wrote a poem…

The air is dank and the sky forever gray, unable to feel and say, find what I crave,
Just looking to find my way,

Some days hit you hard and fast,
Finding it more difficult to make the worthwhile moments last,
Releasing the anger and pain within the cloudy skies between the fire and the rain,
Just attempting to remain somewhat sane,

Often caught on the edge between the darkness and the light,
Often unable to fight, unable to reach new heights,
Seeking the truth has always been my goal,
A life worth living…. just looking for something, somebody to help make me whole, to define my role, to help save my soul,

Looking for the sun to rise and take me to a place far away,
Help me ride out those tumultuous waves,
So I can begin to fight and maybe dance within the truth another day, to find my way, out of the fray….

What you said about "looking for something, somebody to help make me whole" rings with truth about the human experience. I remember well how in HS and college, most kids felt as if a piece was missing from their lives, and somehow, somewhere they would find it one day... A visiting minister in our church once put it this way: It's a universal experience, because we are all born with a God shaped hole in our hearts.
