I never thought I’d ever be able to open my eyes again,
Smile and breathe in this new life.

Tragedy struck 7 months today.
I never thought I’d get over you,
However, I finally found a way.

See “N”,
I realise now you honestly weren’t the one for me,
I took a chance at life,
And unfortunately it ended in misery.

I cried and moped,
To which me felt like eternity,
But slow and steadily,
I won the right to smile again,
And I’m as happy as can be.

Of course I think about you still,
And hope you’re doing well.
But my heart and mind will never forget,
The things you did and said and how you put me through hell.

I’m seeing someone beautiful.
Someone older, who is wise.
His smile lights up each room,
And I love him- it’s no surprise.
He makes time to see me,
He loves kissing my lips.
He holds me in his great big arms,
And when he goes home....
His laugh is what I miss.

He doesn’t close himself off,
To the world like you used to do.
His words can be blunt,
But I respect honesty.... which I never got from you.

I hope I’m finally at peace,
But I won’t thank you for this.
You hurt me bad, you hurt me good.
But I found a new lease on life....
I was too good for you,
Too kind.
That is the truth and I hope you learn this in time.
