Before the Dawn's First Light…

The world still sleeps in hushed repose,
As night begins to fade.
A single bird begins to sing,
A lonely serenade.

The eastern sky, a canvas pale,
Transforms before my eyes.
From deepest blue to violet,
Then softest pink arises.

The first rays touch the sleeping hills,
With fingers made of gold.
A gentle warmth begins to spread,
A story to unfold.

The shadows shrink, the darkness flees,
As dawn breaks through the gray.
The world awakens, fresh and new,
To greet another day.

In quiet awe, I watch the light,
Transform the mundane.
A daily miracle unfolds,
Again and yet again.
