“ Heroine ”

And somewhere in between thoughts and realizations..
I knew why I didn’t look further your way last autumn
The truth is already sitting there…
I was just a beggar trying to make a space on your streets
Thinking a spot in the front can be dedicated for me
Not knowing your eyes favored the heroine at the back
How you look at her lovingly, elbows carving on the plastic white table
How you notice the dirt on her hair
How she struggles to juggle the books in her hands
Though it was never your fault or hers..
I was only a bystander…
So I cried home that day.. on the passenger’s seat
I cried falling asleep..
I cried on waking hours.. too
Replaying your object of fascination will never be me

That is a beautiful poem full of sadness and shattered hope.

I only hope that this poem is not the reflection, the mirror image of someone's real life. Of someone that is seeking to be loved but that is never good enough for the person that she is looking up to.

That poem makes me very melancholic
