I Like To Write Poetry
Shortchanged
Universe destiny fate whatever name will stick
Karma, God whoever runs it all I've got a bone to pick!
I took the background, paid my dues like I should
Even sacrificed my own happiness for others when I could
The agreement was I'd be rewarded for my efforts right?
But nah it all came crashing down one single night
You knew I was happy and grateful
The lone bright spot in a world full of the selfish and hateful
The one time I was at peace
Halfway to marriage happily but you had to make it all cease!
Why? no seriously I know you got a sense of humor
But the bad luck in love you made stick like a malignant tumor
You saw me beg you saw me plead you saw me self sacrifice and ask those to intercede
And when I had her on my arm and close to my open heart
BAM fate kicks the door down and rips my house apart
Truly I feel this way my word is my bond
But you took the thing that calmed my soul KNOWING how I'd respond
I swear if you were personified
WE would do the fisticuffs I'd best you then have YOU feel ostracized
Man plans and you laugh as if it was all a joke to you
Years later not so funny when I've lost all my hope in you
My past should have been enough for you to bless us
Her past and coming forward should have been the ONLY test for us....
Oh you don't like my tone?
Well lets see YOU spend 6 months in a foreign land with a shattered heart and you're all alone
Yeah I gotta bone to pick with you, you know I never would flaunt
Yet now a days I hear "it was for a reason" as a taunt
You are to blame for why I'm like this, the chip
On my shoulder a cutting word at my lips
I've even asked why that scenario ain't new to you
And yeah silence comes back...business as usual
They say the source of all anger is pain
4 some years and a dollar shy...I've been short changed....
