He Doesn't See You

He doesn’t see you anymore. Glad to have you trapped he cheats and the brief bright spark is long since dull.

He doesn’t see you anymore because he thinks he knows all of you, if you changed your perfume, he wouldn’t notice. His nose is in the wind for other scents, and you already know.

He doesn’t see you anymore because he so easily stole and hid your pride, a talent of his well practised and applied, now you’re by his side but without equity or an obvious escape.
You closed all your back doors and gave that practice too much weight.

He doesn’t see you anymore because you have occupied your own shadow in his eyes, following yourself against his light, afraid to sparkle or be bright.

He doesn’t see you anymore because you could make him vanish, and he’d collapse into his blindness - serve him right.

He doesn’t see you anymore because he’s made you, in so many ways, his own, and knows that what you horribly fear most,
is just to be alone.
