Fading Friendships
I use to feel exhilaration of endless possibilities
Hope, then, was easy and as bright as the sun above
Friendships were like the brightly colored flowers
But with endless neglect
And too much watering of the weeds
A hedge has grown up
Now, I stand cold and aloof in gardens I use to play in.
Decaying, discard dreams are trampled underfoot
Wondering how the flowers got so faded
What has happened to the sun?
Peering through the overgrowth
I'm safe,but quite alone
Hope, then, was easy and as bright as the sun above
Friendships were like the brightly colored flowers
But with endless neglect
And too much watering of the weeds
A hedge has grown up
Now, I stand cold and aloof in gardens I use to play in.
Decaying, discard dreams are trampled underfoot
Wondering how the flowers got so faded
What has happened to the sun?
Peering through the overgrowth
I'm safe,but quite alone
