I Love to Write Poetry
Writing challenge of May 1
Looking at the reflection
Staring back at me
I feel a shiver coarsing through
Nerves that are flowing free
The mirror tells a truthful tale
It really cannot lie
The shower shows the condensation
Watching the glass start to cry
The towel is wrapped around me tight
From chest down to the knees
Another turbaned around my hair
It keeps away the breeze
Taking my time, styling my hair
The makeup sets just right
Nodding once, I do declare
I'm ready for tonight
Looking at the reflection
Staring back at me
I feel a shiver coarsing through
Nerves that are flowing free
The mirror tells a truthful tale
It really cannot lie
The shower shows the condensation
Watching the glass start to cry
The towel is wrapped around me tight
From chest down to the knees
Another turbaned around my hair
It keeps away the breeze
Taking my time, styling my hair
The makeup sets just right
Nodding once, I do declare
I'm ready for tonight
