I Write Poetry That Doesn't Rhyme

Challenges... Well this is not a poem it is true, but I am just responding to the group title.
There are certain challenges to writing poems, it's not JUST words scrawled on paper. So there are poems that rhyme and that's a challenge of one level. Then there are poems that follow a certain meter, where the poet counts syllables and tries to get the lines to follow a pattern of syllables.
Then the next challenge is when the poet tries to meter the poem AND rhyme. That's pretty hard but then there's another level where one tries certain variations of the rhyming and metering both in specific patterns.
Some other challenges involve certain modern themes like sextets, sestinas and English haiku.
Of course then there are poems of even more forms in other languages. Applying them to English might be exciting, too.
