I Like To Write Poetry

I have many hopes they are countless
I think of distant places my feet want to bound to
I have many dreams, my reveries are endless
I close my eyes and see fantasies of affection....
I have many feelings, I can't always comprehend
I've had a broken heart that I'm trying to mend
I have self esteem, but it hasn't always been high
I still hold up my head though and carry on with life
I smile a little more each day, encourage myself to try
I grasp my thoughts and aspirations knowing only I can keep them alive.
I have many goals in the present I'm reminded of
I know they can happen in the future if I put my mind to action
So I keep walking, I keep singing, I keep thinking, I keep believing, that someday I'll be in a place I want to be.....
Knowing that's all up to me.
