A brief encounter passed us by
You bought tears to my eyes
In your last hours, me you found
To hold and comfort you in my hand

A last small feast
A comfy nest
A gentle stroke
You closed your eyes
Peacefully your last goodbye

Tears of grief
A tender kiss
A little prayer
Our time so brief

In your last hour
Comfort and peace
