I Like To Write Poetry
if only fast forward would be just as rewarding as rewind
that remembrance of a kiss so fine
from a man divinely mine
oh how I loved him
I will never forget how he searched my eyes
his touch was heaven
I felt I could melt in his arms forever
oh that was then but I am not there
though I wish I would be again
time is now, coming towards me
speeding towards me like a fast train
I met a man and he reminds me of
that special man of years ago
his eyes are dark pools of desire
his touch just electrifies me
makes me want him now
two different men
two different times of my life
first man was the first time
I'd been kissed
I hoped I would be his for life
I can dream couldn't I and I did
but those dreams faded
but I never could forget him
and this new man
I haven't been so excited for any man
said I wasn't going to let myself go again
cause I almost lost myself last time
but for him I will do it, begin again
for him I hope he be mine for good
just dreaming just dreaming just dreaming again
if only fast forward would be just as rewarding as rewind
***thank you to a very dear friend of mine for the use of that opening line for it was a very special part of her life that this poem described, a part of life that she lived and experienced before we became friends
