Speaking In Verses (My Poetry)

I tried to scream out
I shouted with all my might
But no one heard me
My voice was lost in the night

My words and sentences
Fell upon deaf ears wide open
My utters were undoubtedly ignored
Please someone just listen I kept hoping

I one day in a drunken stupor
Picked up pen and paper
My soul began to cry in verses
All the tension went away like vapor

I realized the power of words
Whether spoken or written
I became a poetic prodigy
My power was my pen
