As The Rainbows Fade

Anxious parents at the gate,
Check their watch incase they’re late.
Weary children, furrowed brow,
Wondering why or even how.

Older siblings still in bed,
“Not safe yet,” the government said.
Teachers waiting, drawn on smile,
Two metres apart and single file.

Friends and carers all unite,
Unsure of their offspring’s plight.
British spirit or utter fools,
Sending little ones back to schools.

That's pretty good.

I don't think this pandemic has really sunk in. No one is talking about the effect this is having on kids who are going through this now. This is going to affect their attitude for the rest of their lives.
