I Love Christopher Poindexter Poetry

I admit,
I was afraid
to love.
Not just love,
but to love her.
For she was a stunning
mystery. She carried things
deep inside her that no one
has yet to understand,
and I,
I was afraid to fail,
like the others. She was the ocean
and i was just a boy
who loved the waves
but was completely
terrified to
swim.

I believe the difference between a woman and a girl lies more in the depth of one versus the shallowness of the other more than in the desire to have him swim. It is in knowing how to inspire that desire in him.

Somewhat similar to the ship that never leaves the safety of the harbor .. You can't fulfill your purpose or intent if you aren't able to brave the risks

Yes, he was afraid to swim for your depths are wondrous and vast and not for timid boys.

No, neither of us are places for cowards. I don't think I'm particularly deep like you, but I have a strong heart full of laughter and love and a quick mind that doesn't suffer fools. ;)

we are not for the faint of heart.

That is indeed true. People should be wary and consider themselves warned. ;)

Yes...I think I was the boy too many times.....

I think many men are before they grow brave enough to swim within her depths.
