I Like Poetry

[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeIAQWIg9Ks]

your life is your life
don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission.
be on the watch.
there are ways out.
there is a light somewhere.
it may not be much light but
it beats the darkness.
be on the watch.
the gods will offer you chances.
know them.
take them.
you can’t beat death but
you can beat death in life, sometimes.
and the more often you learn to do it,
the more light there will be.
your life is your life.
know it while you have it.
you are marvelous
the gods wait to delight
in you.

Charles Bukowski

Absolutely! Sometimes people in your life can fill you up with positivity until it's oozing out if your ears but when you read something that immediately speaks to you in a language you can fully comprehend with then only do you realize it's time to start applying these things in your life to feel a change.

There is a realism and a candidness about Bukowski that is compelling. I grow to like him more and more, and Tom Waits too.

@Kryptonite, you are welcome, I needed them too, and I feel they can make many of us feel more positive.

The older I am, the ore I fully appreciate Bukowski.

@Diablesse i agree, his life philosophy speaks to those who have seen the vanity of some of our pursuits.

Thanks for sharing. I needed to hear these words.

I've liked many of Charles work but I can't say I've heard of Tom Waits. I shall take a look later, I'm sure his just as good.
