Airplane poetry

It’s late, I’m exhausted, it has been a long week, and I’m in midair with a way to go yet. Send me your poetry prompts. No promises on the quality. Let’s do this.

What do we know of gravity?
It is an invisible force of attraction
Between two objects
It gives us air to breathe.
Its power can move oceans.

And what do we know of love?
It’s much the same, I’d say.
The invisible attraction between us
That breathes life into our lungs
And moves the earth for us.

Thanks for BC
Thanks for the poem.

Gravity is what keeps things in order and in places where we put them.

Almost home. Signing off now. Good night, my friends.

My father was a professor,
And he taught me grammar.
Avoid comma splices, he’d say,
And watch out for dangling participles.

He also said that absolute words,
Like “perfect” or “unique”,
Could not be modified.
Can something be “somewhat unique”
Or “rather perfect”? No.
It is or it isn’t.

I feel the same way about love.
When it exists,
Which is perhaps less often
Than we’d like to imagine,
It can’t be modified.

I don’t somewhat love you.
I love you without limits,
From here to eternity,
East of the Sun and west of the moon,
Oodles and oodles,
Forever and ever,
Amen.

@Harmonium1923 I like it. Thank you. I love without limits, but not everyone does. Sone choose limits for protection.

Somewhere elderly people in their pajamas are watching public television shows about WWII resistance fighters and preparing to instantly fall asleep.
Harmonium1923 · 56-60, M
@Poppies That’s a prose poem in its own right!

Do not go gentle into that good night
Despite the pajamas and public TV
Resist like the courageous soldiers who fight
And, spoiler alert, kept all of us free!
