A woman was lynched today

Leslé Honoré Poetry

A woman was lynched today
Without noose
With bullet
Same hands
That strung us up
Pulled the trigger
A woman was lynched today
Body in car
Not in trees
Both threaten hate
By existing
By witnessing
A woman was lynched today
And they will say
Self defense
They will say
Obstructing
They will say
What badges have always said
When following orders
Is translation for
Hate
When untrained bigots
Playing dress up
Considers themselves
Great
A woman was lynched today

Not only black lives matter but also women lives do.

Too many have paid the ultimate price for just being women.

"I can't breathe" were George Floyd's last words. What are the last words of all those women that lost their lives to violence made to them?

Jeez! I don't believe in all this shit, spirits, stuff like that, but was it Renee Nicole Good brought me to your profile in the first place?

Or was it simple coincidence? I hope so.

@SchoolBelle I posted this after your comment on the Tyre Nichols poem.
So excellent stalking, very strong spirits and possibly a broomstick involvement.

@KiwiBird Yes. Thank you. I had not heard of Tyre Nichols (he/she/it?). Powerful stuff, direct, visceral.
