I can't identify it but I am thrilled about the perfect haiku. It's something I'm fussy about and many don't do them correctly.🫣

@Magenta aww thanks. It's perfect in syllable count, but it doesn't follow the poetic tradition regarding mood and imagery. That's why I'm calling these pseudo-haikus!

@ThePatientAnarchist In that sense yes it feels a bit discombobulated, but the syllable count is perfect. 😁

@Magenta This one's a little closer to a real haiku, with the moon and stuff :)

I actually read it about a year before I came here. I was reading some poetry and came across it in an anthology. The moment I saw this post and the mention of an albatross, I remembered it 😅

@ThePatientAnarchist I remember reading it in high school (if not earlier).
ThePatientAnarchist · 61-69
@SomeMichGuy it's been ages since I last read it but I've got many lines in my head.
Yea, slimy things did crawl with legs
Upon the slimy sea...

@ThePatientAnarchist I reread the opening bc I didn't remember that setting detail! Thanks for getting me to look at it again!
