It’s Alright to Be Nothing

The Simplicity of Insignificance
by: Rob Paquin

In a world filled with amazing people
That sometimes call me friend
I travel across my heart and soul
Wondering where that I fit in ?

A few are intellectual’s
A couple are strong and true
Some are brave and adventurous
And there’s nothing they can’t do

Some are kind and friendly
And some are simply wise
Some are the salt of the Earth
While some are the sunrise

But then there’s me, This simpleton
With nothing much to offer
A sheep in the wolf’s clothing
Just a worn out empty pauper

I offered rhymes and honesty
I gave all that I could
But in the end, I’m sure my “friends “
Understand that I’m no good.

Just another empty vessel
Broken and filled with holes
That even simple water
My simple hands can’t even hold.
