Can you write poetry?

I'm not talking about the word,
I mean something romantic or profound,
you know that the pen is a sword
with which to make your thoughts resound;
time escapes us all but we can our thoughts record,
instead of them discarded in our mind's mound
and maybe with another soul reach an accord,
a new friendship discovered and found.

Who is to say what is romantic or profound?
Who is to say what words will rouse the warrior to draw his sword, rise again and fight on?
Who is to say what words will win the heart of the woman who has won mine and holds it in the palm of her hand.
Is it the words of the poet, the philosopher, the cleric, the sage, the fool or are they my own?
I know not, yet my ears are ever ready to hear their words, and those that are yet just the whispers on the wind.
Words to inspire, words to stir the blood.
So I listen, and I dream, and I live.
