A poem I wrote about my now boyfriend
Who is that boy over there
too wonderful not to share
who is the boy with a smile like the sun
words so soft I almost don't run
He grabs my hand
Careful to catch me when I land
Who is that boy with a heart so sweet
concerned when I don't eat
7 years feels too short
Too much love to sort
We will be described as "best friends" a hundred years from now
So overlooked but no one asks how
Who is that boy who holds me when i cry
Makes it hurt to say goodbye
Lays his head in my lap
A lovers trap
Holds my hand as we fall asleep
Sometimes its all I want to keep
Who is that boy with hair falling just right
Tries to help with all of his might
so kind it hurts to see him hurt
Too loyal to desert
Soft words rolling off of his lips
careful to smooth over all of my rips
soft gentle hands
Soothing me with our plans
Who is that boy with the dorkiest jokes
Pocket full of smiles and breathe held for hopes
Prettier than the moon
Worth any doom
I whisper I love you when he falls asleep
Feeling incomplete
With each fall of his steady breath
I think of my sudden death
Who is that boy with the nicest laugh
My other half
That sweet boy with the prettiest eyes
World full of people willing to tell him lies
Sometimes I wonder if he knows he makes me feel safe
Does he know how much he gave
Who is that boy?
He's my boy
So gentle and so soft
Worth any cost
A boy with shine
But still mine
too wonderful not to share
who is the boy with a smile like the sun
words so soft I almost don't run
He grabs my hand
Careful to catch me when I land
Who is that boy with a heart so sweet
concerned when I don't eat
