Birds that cannot fly
Our worlds crashed into each other
Like flightless birds in flight
not knowing how to navigate this new domain
We crossed our paths exploringly
But winter broke our fall
lying together in deep sleep
We cursed each other's scars
and promised a break from reality
Then we awoke and discovered ourselves again
We learned how to swim in the same pools
of our up bringing. Going back to the same old habits
The same selfish pride of our superiority
Taking from each other what we felt we deserved
Like flesh eating away flesh
We devoured each other with wreckened abandonedment
Not caring how it was destroying us
Until nothing was left not even our own sanity
Just doubts about our future and self worth
Lying together in an old house
We mourned for the feeling of air against our skin
Like flightless birds in flight
not knowing how to navigate this new domain
We crossed our paths exploringly
But winter broke our fall
lying together in deep sleep
We cursed each other's scars
and promised a break from reality
Then we awoke and discovered ourselves again
We learned how to swim in the same pools
of our up bringing. Going back to the same old habits
The same selfish pride of our superiority
Taking from each other what we felt we deserved
Like flesh eating away flesh
We devoured each other with wreckened abandonedment
Not caring how it was destroying us
Until nothing was left not even our own sanity
Just doubts about our future and self worth
Lying together in an old house
We mourned for the feeling of air against our skin
