Turpid Torando
I could feel it coming,
The wind whipping my feet,
Whisking my cheeks with cold thrashes.
Before I knew it,
My heartbeat took flight,
My brain went into overdrive,
My hands shook like thunder,
And lightning zapped the color from my face.
Lost in a solace of fear and mistakes,
Which a human soul could not erase,
But rebuild moment by moment.
Remembering the time and place,
Gathering tools for a carpentry,
To mold a better version of me,
Hammering nails to solid stone,
Knowing I won’t take the journey alone.
The wind whipping my feet,
Whisking my cheeks with cold thrashes.
Before I knew it,
My heartbeat took flight,
My brain went into overdrive,
My hands shook like thunder,
And lightning zapped the color from my face.
Lost in a solace of fear and mistakes,
Which a human soul could not erase,
But rebuild moment by moment.
Remembering the time and place,
Gathering tools for a carpentry,
To mold a better version of me,
Hammering nails to solid stone,
Knowing I won’t take the journey alone.
