My poem, short but deep

Shining bright for all to see,
still not enough to end their suffering,
I try so hard to be that light,
but all it seems to do is bite,
the closer they get to the flame,
only seems to bring them pain,
I must keep them far away,
to the end of my bane,
I see the pain in their eyes,
the pain they think they disguise,
stay away don't come near,
its hard to live my life in fear,
I try to dim the flame inside,
but that flame is just to hard to hide
