a tunnel to the desert
i was in a land of snow and ice. it was daytime. the sky was either white or faintly blue. there was a tunnel in the ground. it was filled with water. i submerged myself in it.
the tunnel had air reserves in the hollows of its ceiling. i could only fit my mouth and nose above the surface of the water before my face met the ice. there was little space to breathe. little space to move. i progressed with my face to the ceiling. i would not have been able to turn around in the tunnel. it was dark. i kept my eyes shut underwater. i only knew to breathe and move forward.
i emerged from sand. fine, brown sand. i felt it on my hands. it was night, and peaceful. it was quiet like underwater. the night felt eternal. i sat in the sand. there, my dream ended.
