Yesterday I got offended by a friend after he suggested the people in the Sahara use sand to wipe their behinds or just let it dry

There is underground water and most buildings are located around oasis.

But life has a twisted sense of humor, and endless ways of reminding us not to take ourselves so seriously

I am in the great Sahara and woke up feeling little ill, which was kinda of puzzling.

I decided to entertain myself by going through all the vids and pictures I took. And why don't I run into a clip of woman I paid to tattoo my hand with henna..and guess what? She diped her index in her mouth before picking henna and applying it on my palm. And I didn't notice her doing that at the time, lmao. It was noisy environment at night

This is humbling karma right there for nagging at my friend. There are probably many out here using spit instead of water in everything.

Nasty but hey, I have seen worse.

He doesn't really think before talking but in all honesty I overreacted myself. He apologized later.

People who aren't exposed much to different cultures shield themselves from feeling unfulfilled by focusing on how others fall short in whatever standards they think need be matched.

They don't want to admit lacking in experiencing the world.

Of course there are other motives, like wanting to justify past actions towards the culture/s being trashed.

@Miram I would've felt goosebumps if that happened to me, just like if a teacher or whoever is passing out paper and they lick their fingers during it and I see the wet spot on my paper

How often do you get sandstorms?

@deadgerbil I don't know about the frequency here. Haven't really looked into it.

They reach the north where I live about twice to three times a year. It used to be extremely rare in that area because of the forests and green barrier built by the army during the 70s.

I am guessing most of it got burned and that's why it happens so often now .
