Planning my trip

Planning for a vacation doesn't have to be stressful.. but it is for me! Believe it or not, I have been postponing it because it feels like a chore to me, and I prefer to study French instead! ( maybe I AM a nerd after all!!! When I was complaininga few days ago on here that people view me as such, well I guess things like that make people think of me that 🤷‍♀️)..

It is just that I suck at directions and locations, so planning where to stay, in a place where I have never been, is REALLY difficult!! I also don't know how to enjoy myself, what's fun, what to do, where to go.. mind you, I haven't been having fun my entire life! This is like my first real vacation IN A VERY LONG TIME. And the problem is that I seem very ambitious, for a first trip alone! Because I want to go to differentcities and places, which means I need to book various places to stay in, and ride so many different transportations.. which isn't really something I am very good at! OMG I am gonna lose my way A LOT!!

I am not even used to staying at strangers' houses, so booking Airbnb also feels very weird. I'd rather go to a hotel, but I plan to stay for a long while in some places so airbnb is more practical because I can prepare my food and of course it's cheaper .. I know it is stupid, but I naturally do not trust male hosts.. It is stupid, I KNOW, but it is how I feel!! Just booked my first airbnb for the first portion of the trip.. Private everything (which is not very available) and the hostess seem like such a lovely lady..🥴🥺... but no idea where to go from there, where else to book and I just hope I get lucky and find more hostesses that seem trustworthy..

I know one thing, I enjoy nature, A LOT. So making trips to parks, natural places and all of that would put me in such a good mood even if I will just sit down, sip coffee, watch nature, read, or even study french or blog on here!!! I don't need much to feel good to be honest... if it rains that would be great and thank you very much Canada.

Best general advice I can give you: dont overschedule yourself, make sure you have plenty of time in hand for unexpected things that look good

2nd best? get a Tourist guide for each city, both to minimize getting lost and to see what they think tourists might want to see

Airbnb has always sounded very dodgy to me, but then I'm a crusty old bastard.

@firefall These are very good advice and i will keep them in mind.. i also did think of tours especially to a place like the Niagara falls, i wouldn't go on my own there! I need a pick up and tour..

What do you mean by airbnb aounding dodgy, in what sense? O.o

@BittersweetPotato oh, the quality of what is delivered , it seems to me, can vary a lot from what is promised. But I'm deeply cynical and probably too pessimistic on this front

@firefall ah i see.. it is why i read reviews and i hope to find honest ones. Ithe one i booked seem promising and in a good location. Will try to research throughly before booking
What you're talking about is perfectly normal, even the fact you would rather have a female hostess.
