I Have Had Sleep Paralysis
It has yet to become a frequent occurrence, but on the occasions it does occur, it can get pretty unsettling.
I always thought sleep paralysis was a step prior to engaging an out-of-body experience. The same for astral projection. Sometimes, I would be able to get out of bed and move outside my room. Lucid details were convoluted, yet still had their place when comparing to being awake. I usually crawled slow to where I needed to go. Always afraid my body would fall out of bed.
As for sleep paralysis, I just laid there. Having that initial grogginess you get right when you wake up. When you don't want to open your eyes, but you really are awake. With SP, I couldn't move an inch. My mind would struggle to move the body to no avail. I had to calm my mind down, otherwise I'd panic. Eventually, I would either enter another dream sequence or actually wake up.
To me, that was the worse part of SP. Even worse than having a 'visitor' in the room. What was it? A shadow person hovering at my bedside, looking down. I couldn't actually see it staring, but I definitely sensed being watched. Sometimes an alien grey. At other times, invisible ghosts. They had a mentally penetrating energy that let me know they were someplace close. The last time this happened, I decided to not be scared. Instead, I started speaking to that darkness. Telling it things about myself. Never heard any responses.
Used to get anxious before going to sleep. Now it isn't as bad when keeping control.
