Pillows in Their Cases

I stack them up beside of me
And lend them a lovely name
I wrap my arm across them
Hoping they can dull the pain

All this time spent missing
The miles in-between
With every fiber of my soul
just asking to be seen

I'll dream of you there sleeping
Like these pillows next to me
Hoping you return again
And once more set me free.

I think you have a gift with words.

Hey, thanks. I appreciate the kindness.
Who wrote this?

Why do I say what?
That it's not effortless, or that it comes natural?

Nothing in life that gets done goes without effort. Rhyming just comes naturally to me somehow.
But rhyme, and poetry are very imperfect mediums and what comes out isn't always what you intended when you started.

This rhyme here is inspired by my long-distance relationship with my girlfriend.
We never get enough time together and both of us are learning how to deal with that.

The stack of pillows beside me, are what I jokingly refer to as my Pillow Girlfriend.
This rhyme came out pretty much as intended.

Merry Christmas -or- Happy Holidays
Whichever you prefer.

Peace
@HikingMan Oh no, I'm sorry, I meant why do you say it's altogether not right.

Merry Christmas!

It's just not the best description of it all.
Though I do struggle to find a better word for it.

I write when I feel something, and then everything else just kind of clicks into place. More often than not, my rhymes aren't that good. Or at least I don't see them as such.
