Like to go without dentures

@Toothlessmen Do you eat without them? I know of a number of people who either go toothless all of the time or just take them out to eat.

@Toothlessmen I’ll be getting full extractions next month. I’ve always wanted to be toothless

@Musclebuzx Are you going to get immediate dentures, or are you just going to go toothless? Either way, it's a big step and will take some getting used to your new mouth. I recommend that you immediately start o work on your speech. I know toothless people who speak so well that, without seeing them, you'd never know that they don't have any teeth. I often talk on the phone without mine, and I have asked others whether they could tell whether I was gummy, or whether I had my teeth in.

@Corsair My dentist told me that in order to get the absolute best fit for my immediate dentures, I should get all my extractions done first, then take the impressions afterward - once my gums had healed. This would mean I’d need to be completely toothless without immediate dentures for a few weeks - until they were done. . I’m definitely ok with that since I’m looking forward to being toothless.

@Musclebuzx Best wishes to you. Enjoy the first time you see yourself in the mirror without teeth! It can be a shock, even if you are looking forward to being toothless. At first, it may look nasty, but, as the gums heal, it can look very pleasant. Smooth empty gums are really nice, and the feeling is hard to beat.

When you get dentures, it's going to take some work to get used to having them in your mouth and learning to eat and talk. We might be able to help you with that. Most dentists aren't very helpful.

@Musclebuzx i'm 20 and i wanted to be toothless but dentist refuses to get them out so my bf decides to pull them and he did that 7 weeks algo at home ,i'm super happy [image]

@Wannabetoothless I had all my back teeth extracted this past Friday. This was done so that I’ll have better impressions and fit for my immediates. The front teeth will come out in a few weeks and I’ll get my immediates placed

I’m only having local anaesthetic for my remaining 11 upper teeth
I think I could use a bit of something else 😜

@Wannabetoothless it’s now 48 hours since my Eday for my upper clearance and immediate denture
It was done under local all over in 45 mins 11 extractions and fitting denture
It was totally painless and I am still pain free🎉
I couldn’t be happier to have an empty upper mouth
Just need these sockets to heal now it looks pretty rugged at present but I am so pleased

@Musclebuzx did this work out ok for you? I had impressions done today but without having the extractions done- they will be done in 1-2 weeks and immediate dentures fitted. The dentist gave the option of having the extractions first, letting the gums heal and then having dentures but I was afraid of going several weeks without teeth while the gums healed. Not sure if I should reconsider and not get the immediate denture. Will wait to hear from you before deciding.

@EthanM mine are being done in two parts. First the back teeth were extracted. Next comes the impressions, then the front come out and immediates are placed. My dentist says this method is best for getting good fitting immediates.

@Musclebuzx I spoke to my dentist and he said he plans to do 2 stages as well. The immediates will be ready in 2 weeks so he wants to do extractions of all the back teeth and loose ones and next Monday and the final 6 front teeth (3 top and 2 bottom) the following week when fitting the denture. I said I was fine with that. Will be weird having only a few front teeth for a week though!
