Yes,unbelievable isn't it,that a man who has never been in a relationship,never been a father himself and is never likely to be can have such pretention as to give advise in that area.But he is just following one verse in the bible "go forth and multiply" without giving it further thought.There is another verse in the bible which say that "no seed should be wasted". Blindly following some ancient writings verbatim just does not add up,mostly when the consequences are the cause of such tremendous misery.

Cherry picking of verses that APPEAR to justify an individual's point of view is the foundation for disharmony. If anyone chooses to ascribe to any religious teachings they should accept them in their entirety, not certain parts, or else you risk undermining their purpose.
The trouble is that all religious writings were created by humans. Humans are fallible and often egocentric, putting their own slant on the things they are writing about and this often makes a mockery of the teachings as a whole.

I could not agree with you more.But sadly those writings are attributed to God's inspiration by those who wrote them and that makes said writings very dangerous indeed.
