Past Physical and Sexual Abuse

A well known british tv presenter has just admitted he was abused at a well known scottish school in the 70s and the teacher involved is living in South Africa and wants him brought back to face justice in the uk as it was a British Empire Country . This could open the flood gates for other teachers in the British Empire being forced to face justice in the uk if their still living . That means if someone from my school in Africa comes forward to complain to authorities every master from my school could end up being brought to justice in the uk as they were all guilty of it . Bullying and abuse was rampant as it was a private school not regulated by government ruling .

I don't think there will be enough proof to bring anybody to justice. I remember posting a league table of the 'discipline' on Friends Reunited members of my class received from a female teacher and it was promptly deleted I assume by admins. I was fourth on the list and wasn't a bad kid at all. In a class of about 28, 6 of the boys and 2 of the girls received physical discipline over the years '74/75 we were 9 & 10 years old.

@GeniUs You say there wouldnt be enough evidence but I dont think there has to be . In the cases I have seen in the uk as long as your sob story seems believable that seems to be all they need for a jury to believe them . The amount of people jailed on pedophilia charges dating back years in the uk is verging on idiocy . How can you prove half a century after the fact anything happened . As long as you get enough people telling more or less the same story is all it seems to take and alot of people are just jumping on the bandwagon hoping for big compensation pay outs . Prince Andrew being case in point his accuser suddenly lost all interest in justice after been paid an out of court settlement . Surely if it had happened you would want to see justice done , no amount of money would be acceptable .

@Rhode57 I agree and especially about the Prince Andrew thing, wasn't that her third payout? I believe in justice but you have to be able to prove it otherwise we're back to Salem witch trials.

@GeniUs Exactly thats what is happening in the uk . I am pretty sure half these celebrities that have been found guilty probably arnt and even if they are how can you prove it 10/20/30 years after it aparently happened . All you have is an allegation from someone against someone else , its a case of he said she said its a bloody joke . If there is no physical evidence then there should not be a case . You cannot prove a person is lieing or telling the truth unless the perpatrator admits to it . The country has gone pedophilia mad . Telling people to come forward and they will be believed is madness it is going to lead to countless miscarriages of justice . I am glad I am old and probably not gonna be around much longer because the world is going to hell .

You may well be right. It does worry me that one accusation appears to incite umpteen more and in some cases, for dubious motives rather than legal justice - which itself assumes innocence unless guilt can be proved beyond reasonable doubt.

Yet in your opening statement you say these offences were rampant and "every" (every?) master was "guilty".
