An English coutry Railway Station. Okehampton , Devon

I remember 'discovering' that station about 40 years ago, perhaps more, when I just walked up the road from where friends were living in Oakhampton to see what there was at the station site. I was amazed at what I saw because so much was intact. I think at that time it was only the trains to Meldrum Quarry that were running along the line: possibly not even those then. The preservationists did a marvellous job of restoring the buildings and the return of regular trains. It's really good news. I wonder if more than an hourly service is actually required? Not living locally I wouldn't know.

@FreddieUK Not really . The annoying thing is, the bus for the town leaves 5 minutes before the hourly train arrives 🙈

@devonman The madness of uncoordinated public transport. I just cannot understand why we can't do it properly in this country. I can only think that the bus company (I'm guessing Stagecoach) is makes more profit by having the timetable suit them rather than potential passengers. They will have lost out to GWR when the rail service started and with the new P+R station nearby, the bus will only be needed by those without a car. The steep hill up to the station needs a bus.
