I was decluttering an old space today and found an old bible that my parents got me.

It makes me sad because it reminds me of when I actually believed in God, and had a better relationship with my parents.

And I let it get all tattered like that. Poor thing.

I like this bible.

You need to take care of it, regardless of faith.

To get my Bible, I literally had to ask for it discreetly. Because it is illegal to do so aloud in a public place. I understand why that is, France attempting in the past to change religion and erase identity has lead to the banning of spreading religions
..but the fact that such laws exist shows you need to look at diversity as something to fight for.

There are places where they wish they could have that
@Miram One day I came home from work just as a woman in a hijab made a mail delivery to our house.

My brother joked that he thought I brought home a muslim girlfriend.

I did have a muslim girlfriend in the past, so I felt a little judged. I asked him what he would think if I did. He and mom froze and stared at me as if I just confessed to being a murderer. My brother asked me some question — I forget how he worded it, but it sounded like some scripture he learned while doing his missionary work in the past. It was something like, "Do you believe in and follow the one true God, our savior?" Like he was trying to exorcise a demon.

At that time, I did believe. So I just said yes. They seemed satisfied with it. I felt like I escaped an interrogation.

I will never tell them about that woman.

@SinlessOnslaught I got no notification for this.

That sounds horrible and judgemental coming from people who fornicate before marriage.
@Miram That's why I love you. You're not judgmental.
