So dog meat is illegal but others are okay?

During COVID pandemic I told my friend that people are mating and eating bats that's where the pandemic came from, and she told that it's fine for them to eat cat but not bats, she said and I qoute " eating cats is fine but never bats". I don't know what I am saying I couldn't sleep.
