@exchrist I was born and raised in the mountains.

@tobynshorty thats great too! Im in the adirondacks as much as possible. They are called "mountains" but are mostly just hills some are almost as high as mountains.

@exchrist wow! Sounds very nice.

@tobynshorty yes very similar climate more and more people; sadly more houses more roads less wilderness. Is the situation similar where you are?
tobynshorty · 51-55, F
@exchrist yes it is getting more populated. People are destroying our mountains to build houses. I care about the animals and I know their habitats are being destroyed. We all have to pay higher taxes etc. It’s not really fair but we have to do it.

@tobynshorty there are more sustainable ways to develop. Id like to see more building up compared to buying and leveling more underveloped land for houses. More apartments fewer new houses.

@exchrist The boomers that come here are usually wealthy and own another place somewhere else. They are usually rude to locals and they want everything changed to accommodate them. I know it’s frustrating.

@tobynshorty definitely obnoxious. In my experience the ones that earned their opportunities, such as my parents that held multiple jobs to be able raise kids and buy a house while living within their means are far removed from the wasteful and extravagent politicains in positions of power ; same generation, completely different perspective. It seems the "boomlenials" are the people so hellbent on buying up everything to retire in luxury; while destroying the next generation's future?
People that arent working and now that they have money are living large despite the damage it does.

@exchrist our biggest problem is the people from Florida.

@tobynshorty its definitely top 5. The overdevelopment and escalated value of "beachfront" everyone knows wont endure the next storm event. Those luxury properties get insured for the value when built, but the risk assessment seems to be ignored such that low cost insurance would never be paid to the full value of whats being insured prior to the property being decimated by the next weather event.
Maybe insurance companies should just pull out of certain high risk makets? Otherwise the boom\bust pattern only seems to excellerate? And will never break even!
