@beermeplease I don鈥檛 remember having Black Fridays back in the 60鈥檚.
@cherokeepatti I think that Cabbach Patch '83 was the first year for it.

@NativePortlander1970 I remember somewhere back then when my sister started going to Black Friday sales every year. I went a couple times much later, like early 2000鈥檚 and was very disgusted about things being sold out and disappointed having to get up so early and going to a store like Best Buy and seeing lines wind up and down the parking lot.
@cherokeepatti It always pissed me off about their bait and switch tactics, the barely readable fine print in the ads always saying only three available. Then in about 2005 or so numerous states passed laws that demanded at least 50 of the more high end items must be available, Nevada was one of them, but there were still crazy insane rushes to get them.
