Blame Capitalism. Nike dropped Kanye because he was costing them money.

@pianoplayingsteve Because he was saying things that a lot of people didn't like. People were boycotting Nike, so Nike did the smart business thing and cut ties with Kanye. This is just Capitalism.

@BohemianBabe That's ideological pressuring. Capitalism is an economic system. Plenty of people throughout history have used threats, social shaming etc to intimidate people to change how they use their capital. That doesn't mean capitalism is at fault, it's a neutral system, it means the people making threats are.

@pianoplayingsteve But it wasn't the threats or social-shaming that got through to Nike, it was that people boycotted their products. Like any big corporation, Nike makes decisions based on money.
