This nightmarish creature lives among us

Scary as it seems, there is nothing to worry about, this horrible-looking creature is a Camponotus ligniperda...commonly known as an ant.

Lithuanian photographer Eugenijus Kavaliauskas submitted this magnified photograph of a carpenter ant at Nikon's Small World Photomicrography Competition. It didn't win first prize (won 3rd place), but the image went viral and gained more attention than the entries of the other 2 winners.

Am I ever so glad these creatures are tiny!😂
